Goose Barnacle

One of the most prized shellfish on the Portuguese coast, its high price a measure of how dangerous it is to harvest. The Berlengas are prime ground for it, especially on the north-facing slopes where the waves hit hardest. Its harvest here has been regulated since 2000 and needs an ICNF permit.
