Fishermen's Quarter

The island's only settlement, a cluster of low fishermen's houses built in the 1940s on the ruins of the old monastery, above Carreiro do Mosteiro. It holds the restaurant, the mini-market, the visitor centre and a first-aid post, and is where every trail and boat trip begins.
